Working with charities
For the past few years we have managed to raise over £25,000 for our chosen charity Radio Lollipop. Radio Lollipop believes in the healing power of play – providing smiles and laughter to children in hospitals across the country at a time when they need it most. We feel very proud to support such an amazing group of people doing such a fantastic job. www.radiolollipop.org
Other charities we support closely on an annual basis include CRASH, The Construction Youth Trust, Shelter and Barnardos.
Property Cup
Established in 1966, the Property Cup is now in its 50th year. Once again, we are raising money for CRASH, the construction and property charity for homeless people.
This annual World Cup-style competition is open to 11-a-side football teams from organisations associated with the property sector. A series of group matches lead to qualification for the later knock-out cup stages. Games are played at Gunnersbury Park on Wednesday evenings. The final is played in mid-May at Millwall’s New Den stadium.
Dress down Friday
Every Friday is charity dress down in our offices and staff on a rotation basis nominate which charity they would like to receive the weeks’ raised money.
Give as you earn (GAYE)
We have introduced Give As You Earn (GAYE) so all staff can donate to 160,000 registered UK charities or to the cause of their choice locally, nationally or internationally on a monthly basis in the most a tax-efficient way.
Paid leave
We offer paid time off for staff to take part in community activity. Whether it is in their local community or ours, we allow staff to participate in charitable work of their choice. We have helped redecorate offices, regenerate school gardens and planted trees up and down the country.
Some of our staff are working with 6th form students at Lillian Baylis school in Vauxhall under the ‘adopt a Student’ mentoring scheme. The scheme provides a means by which young people can access individual and personalised advice and thus enable them to unlock and achieve their career potential.
