Working in the offices sector
The key to successful offices is tailoring them to their end-users. Staff and visitors will be using the building/s on a daily basis and smart, well-designed spaces will improve their well-being and productivity. We deliver a multi-disciplinary service for new build offices, the refurbishment / remodelling of existing ones, and fit-outs.
We delivered Guys and St Thomas’ Charity’s headquarters in London. As part of their environmental management plan, they wanted to encourage staff to cycle to work. We worked with the design team to incorporate innovative, internal bike storage racks to maximise the use of space and provide security and easy access for the building users. Post-completion, we have been told by the client that bike usage is up and the design tweaks made were instrumental in changing behaviours to a more sustainable culture.
For A2Dominion Group’s regional headquarters in west London, we acted as cost managers. Key to the project was the introduction of new methods of working into the design, ‘agile working’ to enable the client to gain best value from their investment while also reducing their impact on the environment. In addition the building was developed to BREEAM ‘very good’ standards, incorporating rainwater harvesting systems and photovoltaic panels.
During Sky’s West Cross House restack, staff had to be moved from building to building several times to allow the works to progress. This could have bred significant dissatisfaction and inconvenience, especially as they were technologically intensive, but we managed it successfully with planning and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
