John Rowan and Partners signs up to support London LEAN initiative

John Rowan & Partners has given its support to a London mayoral initiative that aims to help young people to build the skills and experiences they need to lead successful careers.

The company is ‘loaning out’ one of its senior managers, Head of the Public Sector Regeneration team, Ken Morgan to LEAN – the London Enterprise Adviser Network – as an enterprise advisor.

LEAN connects businesses with schools and colleges and works with young people to make sure they are aware of all the career pathways and opportunities available to them,” explained Ken, who starts working as a volunteer with the organisation later this month.

Enterprise advisers volunteer their time to help school and college careers leaders increase their engagement with businesses and to access local careers resources and I’ll be working with careers leaders to make sure encounters between students and employers are the basis of a structured careers plan.

Our goal will be to make sure young Londoners from all backgrounds can access the opportunities that the capital has to offer, and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and expertise.”

John Rowan and Partners is a strong supporter of delivering social value through community initiatives and is already supporting Ken in his role as a volunteer mentor with the Housing Diversity Network (HDN).

We believe it’s really important to share our skills and experience with the next generation and give back to the communities we work in. Through working with the HDN we are able to create confidence and improve the skill sets of those working in the affordable housing sector – which is not only beneficial to those individuals but the sector as a whole.” said Ken.

The Housing Diversity Network is an organisation that helps organisations to work in a more inclusive way. This includes leadership and governance, workforce development and community services. Through their flagship staff mentoring programme HDN have mentored well over 1,900 housing professionals across various organisations.
