Kingston Upon Thames – Royal Exchange project handed over
A high-profile affordable homes project in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames has now been successfully handed over.
Kingston Royal Exchange, a £5m development by St George has been constructed alongside the historic Grade II listed Old Post Office and Telephone Exchange. The project provides 25 much-needed one and two-bedroom homes for client L&Q, with the wider scheme providing over 300 mixed-tenure properties.
John Rowan and Partners acted as Employers Agent, Quantity Surveyor and Site Inspector for L&Q, working on the project throughout the pandemic – which created challenges for safe monitoring and inspection.
“We are pleased to see another project providing much needed affordable housing successfully completed and handed over,” said Trevor Greenhalgh, Partner, John Rowan and Partners.
“Covid did of course present challenges to our team, but we were able to employ technology to help us complete regular site visits. This ensured that we were able to deliver the high-quality services that our client expected and keep everything on schedule.”
The project sits in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames, includes landscaped gardens and benefits from close by Richmond Park, which is one of the oldest of London’s royal parks.
