We welcome back work experience students to John Rowan and Partners

Last week, we were delighted to welcome our first work experience student since 2019.

Aariyon Patel, 14, from Harrow, Greater London, spent a week with us, shadowing our experienced and highly skilled team members to get a flavour of what it’s like to work in a construction consultancy.

Aariyon had the chance to visit some of our live, as well as completed project sites and spend time in our offices, giving him first-hand experience of the technical roles within the construction industry.

Niral Limbani, Quantity Surveyor at John Rowan and Partners, was Aariyon’s line manager for the week.  He commented “This was a great opportunity for Aariyon, to experience what it’s like to work in roles such as building surveying, project management and quantity surveying. This is the perfect time to experience the construction industry, just at the age where he is making decisions about his future, I hope his time with us has helped him get a better idea of what he wants to do”.

We have a long history of encouraging work experience with schools and believe it is vital children get to experience the construction industry at the point they are making the academic decisions which go on to shape their future careers.

Mash Halai, Chairman of John Rowan and Partners added. “As a company whose ethos is: people thinking about people, it was great to have Aariyon as part of the team for a week. We were able to give him the chance to get a real insight into the different types of jobs that are out there”.
